College Basketball > NBA

Last night Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson Tweeted "NBA games > college games... By far."

I completely disagree with him. NBA players may have more talent than college players but, college players put in more effort and play with more passion. NBA players have already made it. College players are trying to make it to the NBA.

An example of this is Illinois Freshman point guard Andre Curbelo. When he left Puerto Rico, he told his brother he was going to make it. To make it, you have to play well in college and show NBA scouts that you are worth it.

Another reason why college basketball games are better than NBA games is the atmosphere. There is nothing cooler than student sections throughout college. Even if your favorite college basketball team is bad, they're playing a ranked opponent knowing there is a chance for an upset.

In college basketball, you feel a little more connected to your team rather than the pros. You went to that school you have a passion for when that team plays that is unexplainable.

The last thing that makes college basketball greater than NBA is playoffs. March Madness is the best time of year. You have one game elimination game. You get a team's best effort, there are buzzer-beaters every year. Also, who doesn't like cheering for the underdog in March? In the NBA, you get a feel for who is going to win the series until there are four teams left. It is not as exciting as college games.

The NCAA championship had around 10.5 million viewers for the 2019 game according to google. The NBA had 7.5 viewers for the 2020 finals.

Just because the NBA has the best talents in the world doesn't mean the games are the best watch.
