Illinois Has Two Players Drafted

As the NFL draft comes to an end, Illinois rarely has anyone drafted. In this year's draft, they have two players drafted. Kendrick Green was the 87 pick in the third round to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Then with the 167 pick in the fifth round.

Kendrick Green is the highest drafted player from the University of Illinois since Hugh Thornton was drafted, by the Colts in the third round with the 86 overall pick. This is a great pick for the steelers as Green can play many positions on the offensive line.

Hobbs can be a diamond in the ruff as the Raider looks to improve their secondary defense. Hobbs is more of a hitter than a player who gets interceptions.

Two Illinois players getting drafted is the most since 2016, when three Illini players got drafted.

There will still be some Illinois players who get undrafted. Hopefully, they get a chance in the NFL and can make the University of Illinois proud.

The most Illini's to get drafted in recent years is four from the years 2011-2013. Hopefully, more than two Illini's can get drafted next year.
