The Blue Jays Trade Their Top Two Prospects for Jose Berrios

WOW, I did not see this coming. The Blue Jays got their guy in Jose Berrios but giving up Austin Martin surprised me. I was expecting Simeon Woods-Richardson to get traded as he is only 20 years old and still has a lot of upside but not Martin. Martin was the Blue Jays top prospect and they just drafted him fifth overall in the 2020 draft. To have an All-Star pitcher who is not a rental the price is high.

This Is just what the doctor ordered for the Jays. What is holding this team back is the bullpen. What this trade means for the Blue Jays is we have a starter to go deep in the game, so we can limit the usage of the bullpen and only use the pitchers that we can trust in the pen. Also, with the pick-up of another starter, we can put a new pitcher in the bullpen and make it that much better. The starting rotation is Now Ray, Ryu, Berrios, Manoah, and probably Matz.

The Blue Jays now return to Toronto with a new pitcher. The stars are aligning this is what the Blue Jays needed to make the playoffs. They are only 4.5 games back of the 2nd wildcard. Let's make some magic and make a run with the city behind us.
