All off-season I had to deal with the crazy 49ers fans and TV general managers saying how the 49ers should cut Jimmy G or Trade Jimmy G now and make Trey Lance the starter. Well, Jimmy played awesome on Sunday. Yes, he had that one fumble, but It was a brand new center and the first offensive snap of the season. After that mistake, there was no other mistake. Jimmy went 17 for 25 for 314 yards, with one touchdown and zero interceptions. That's right, zero interception and, there were not any passes that got dropped by a defender either. Jimmy had a qbr of 124.2 that is solid and a passing rating of 74.6.
To everyone who still wants Trey Lance to be the starter, Kyle made it clear this is Jimmy's team until further notice. Jimmy played 51 out of 55 snaps. Trey Lance ran the ball three times and the only time he passed the ball was in the red zone when everyone was expecting a pass.
I'm not a Trey lance hater, but I am a Jimmy Garoppolo fan and his name has been trashed all off-season for no reason. This is Jimmy's team and the faithful need's to realize that. Trey will have his time but this Is Jimmy's time. I honestly think there is a chance he can win come-back player of the year.
I kept receipts on the people who trashed Jimmy's name. Now they are showing him all the love in the world. It annoys the shit out of me. Keep that same energy. Keep hating on him and he is going to prove everyone in the world wrong. He's even going to prove the 49ers wrong for drafting his replacement in my opinion.
Jimmy Is going to ball out this week against the Eagles. I'm predicting a 300 plus yard game with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
