Who the fuck has a ring day for second place? I have always known a team gets a championship ring for winning their league, but I have never seen them posted in public by the official team's account.
That has to be the shittiest feeling as a player. To get a 2nd place ring reminding you that you lost the World Series. A 2nd place ring might be the worst thing to get in professional sports. It is not like the Olympics getting a 2nd place medal or anything like that. It is just getting a ring for winning your conference and losing the World Series.
Congratulations to the Rays, you got 2nd place.
If I am a Rays fan (the little of you out there) I would be embarrassed. The Twitter trolls are already going after the Rays Twitter account for posting that picture.
No team should ever post a picture of giving out the conference champions ring. It should be done in private as everyone else has done before them.
