Thank god the Jays finally get to play in Toronto. On July 30th, the Jays come back to Toronto. Buffalo has been awesome to the Blue Jays the whole city has really supported them but, it's time to go back home. Last year they had no clue where to play. Some games they played in other teams stadiums and, they were considered the home team. They also played over half their games last year on the road before they went to their triple-A site in Buffalo. This year has been a little better. The Blue Jays started the year at their spring training location in Florida then moved back to Buffalo in May to avoid the Florida heat.
Their time in Florida wasn't the best experience. There were more away team fans at the game, the stadium was not pitcher-friendly and the players weren't use to having no backdrop in the outfield which means it's harder to see the ball coming in and there is no shade in the outfield. Buffalo was a good move for the team because there were actual Blue Jays fans at the game. The stadium although it was not the best it was better than their spring training stadium.
The move back to Toronto could not have come at a better time. The Blue Jays need a second-half run. There is no place better to do that at their home ballpark that you have not played in a little under two years.
I can't wait to see what the Blue Jays can do at home this year, it is going to be awesome to see the city of Toronto rally around the team.
